The Cast

Sean McDermott (Hannibal Lecter)

Sean has starred on Broadway in Miss Saigon (Chris), Grease (Danny Zuko), Falsettos (Whizzer) and Starlight Express (Rusty). On TV, Sean starred in CBS’s long-running “Guiding Light.” His other guest starring credits include “Desperate Housewives,” “Medium,” “Charmed” and “Freddie.” He has traveled the world performing with some of the most celebrated symphony orchestras and has shared the stage with such legendary entertainers as Barbra Streisand (2007 European tour), Bernadette Peters, Mandy Patinkin, Elaine Stritch and Robert Goulet. He sang for the President at the Kennedy Center on three separate occasions. Sean has also performed at Carnegie Hall and Radio City. Recordings include You’re Not Alone, New York Nights, My Broadway and Piece of Sky.

Laura Jordan (Clarice Starling)

David Ayers ( Jame Gumb/Buffalo Bill )

David is thrilled to be joining SILENCE! where Stephen Bienskie created such an incredible performance of Ted Levine’s iconic Buffalo Bill. Broadway: Wicked (Fiyero), Fiddler on the Roof (Fyedka), Mamma Mia! (Sky). Charlie Williams (Dream Hannibal)

Charlie is super excited to be playing with the lambs here at SILENCE! Broadway credits: Memphis (OBC) and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (OBC/assistant choreographer). Other New York credits include Superman (Encores!) and Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Charlie can be seen performing on the “Tony Awards,” “Academy Awards” (assistant choreographer) and “Kennedy Center Honors.” He is also the Broadway correspondent for the “Broadway Fall/Spring Preview” on ABC7. Howard Kaye ( Jack Crawford )

Sarah O’Gleby (Dream Clarice)

Just returned from L.A. after performing and being assistant choreographer on the “85th Academy Awards” hosted by Seth MacFarlane. B’way credits include Chaplin; How to Succeed…; Promises, Promises. Kevin Spirtas (Dr. Chilton)

A 25-year veteran of acting in films, TV and Broadway, Spirtas is most recognized as Dr. Craig Wesley on NBC’s “Days of Our Lives.” Broadway: A Chorus Line, Meet Me in St. Louis and The Boy From Oz (standby for Hugh Jackman). Off-Broadway: Loaded. Films: Striking Resemblance, Green Plaid Shirt, Apt Pupil, Daredevil, Friday the 13th VII and The Hills Have Eyes II. In 2009, Spirtas made his debut as a Broadway producer with the critically acclaimed revival of Finian’s Rainbow.Other producer credits: Whoopi Goldberg’s White Noise and Bette Midler’s Priscilla Queen of the Desert.Spirtas can also be seen touring the country with his one-man show Night & Days.

Kimberly Stern ( Catherine Martin )

Kimberly is thrilled to join the cast of SILENCE! Broadway: A Doll’s Life. Off Broadway: Becoming Adele, Bar Mitzvah Boy. Tours: Annie, Grease! Kimberly has a teaching practice at She recently produced The Broadway Warm-Up ( with cast member Deidre Goodwin. Thanks to CGF Talent, Graig Guggenheim, Rob McCaskill and her family.

Natalie Joy Johnson (Female Standby)

is thrilled to be in her 4th Christopher Gattelli insanity extravaganza! Credits include Legally Blonde (Broadway – Enid Hoopes, National Tour – Paulette), Southern Comfort (CAP 21 – Cori), Bare (Nadia) and How to Save the World… (Greek Chorus). Natalie’s cabaret act has sold out crowds at 54 Below, Joe’s Pub, Ars Nova & Feinstein’s at the Regency. Her one woman show, NJJ is RELENTLESS, was named one of Time Out NY’s Top 10 Cabarets of 2011. She does a free weekly show at Therapy with Brian Nash every Tuesday at 11pm. Come play!

Kevin Zak (Male Standby)

is so happy to be a part of SILENCE! In the recent past, he has been seen in the 30th Anniversary Tour of Cats, the original company of the Disney Fantasy, and studying and performing on stage at Upright Citizens Brigade (NY) and the Groundlings in Los Angeles. Other credits include Chicago, Life Could Be a Dream, Forever Plaid and The Learned Ladies. Thanks to his incredible parents, Jenna and Team Boals!

The Creative Team

Jon & Al Kaplan ( Music and Lyrics, Screenplay )

Jon and Al Kaplan composed the music for two seasons of the animated series Code Monkeys, and scored the Syfy Channel films Piranhaconda and Dinocroc Vs. Supergator. They have written comedy for the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, for which they also arranged Andy Samberg’s “Lonely Island Medley.” Jon and Al recently launched a series of viral internet musicals led by their Arnold Schwarzenegger cycle, featuring Conan the Barbarian, Predator, Commando and more. The Kaplans’ original internet musical and concept album, Silence!: Silence of the Lambs the Musical, debuted in 2002 and was staged at the 2005 NYC Fringe Festival, where it won the “Overall Excellence Award” for Outstanding Musical. The show subsequently ran in London, and opened Off Broadway in 2011.

Hunter Bell ( Book )

Hunter Bell earned an OBIE Award, a Drama League nomination, and a Tony nomination for Best Book of a Musical all for the original Broadway musical. Other credits include the books for Silence! The Musical (NY Fringe Festival, Above the Stag-London, Theatre 80), Bellobration! (137th Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus), Villains Tonight! (Walt Disney Imagineering Creative Entertainment/Disney Cruise Lines) and Now. Here. This. (Vineyard Theatre). He has created and contributed original material for numerous benefits and events including BC/EFAs Easter Bonnet/Gypsy of the Year competitions, Broadway Bares 18 & 19 (Wonderland & Click It!) as well as specialty material for the 53rd Annual Drama Desk Awards, The Actor’s Fund’s 125th Anniversary Gala, and NYCLU’s Broadway Stands Up for Freedom. Hunter is a co-creator of the web series the [title of show] show and recently co-created and wrote the half-hour pilot “Glass Houses” for ABC Studios/Television and Cherry-Wind Productions. He is a distinguished alumnus of Webster University, a proud member of WGA, Actors Equity, the Dramatists Guild, and AFTRA, as well as an honorary member of the Yale Dramat and a MacDowell Fellow.

David Kaley ( Costume Designer )

is glad the sheep have returned to the fold. Recent designs include NEWSical (Kirk), Hairspray (Charlottetown Theatre Festival), Trails (NYMF). Associate design credits include: The Addams Family, La Cage aux Folles, The Normal Heart (Broadway) and Dreamgirls (Korea), Ragtime (Kennedy Center), Disneys High School Musical (US, UK, Spain). has enjoyed a wide-ranging producing career in theatre, film, television and concerts. Theatre: Matt & Ben in NY & LA (Top 5 Plays, Time Magazine), Johnny Guitar (Best Off-Broadway Musical, Outer Critics Circle Award), Listen To My Heart: The Songs of David Friedman (Drama Desk nomination), Bat Boy (London), SHOUT! Rich Affannato ( Producer )

is currently the Executive Artistic Director for Nederlander Worldwide Events. He was part of the management team for Epic Proportions (w/Kristen Chenoweth) on Broadway as well as the Off-Broadway hits Hedwig and The Angry Inch, Gorey Details, and Menopause The Musical. He directed David Hasselhoff’s World Tour Concert, and was represented on Broadway by the musical All Shook Up, in which he was an original investor. As an actor, his Broadway and National Tour credits include Les Miserables, The Producers, and Civil War. Off-Broadway he was in Forbidden Broadway-20th Anniversary Edition. Regional credits include Floyd Collins (Floyd)-Signature Theatre (Helen Hayes Award Nomination-Outstanding Leading Actor in a Musical), Stephen Sondheim’s 70th Birthday Concert-Library Of Congress, and countless other theaters across the United States including The Guthrie, St. Louis Rep, Capitol Repertory Theatre, and Great Lakes Theatre Festival. He is the President and Managing Producer of Affannato Productions, a production company dedicated to developing new projects for theatre, film, and television. He sits on the Board of Directors for New York opera company Opera Breve.

Donna Trinkoff ( Producer )

is currently the producing artistic director of Amas Musical Theatre, a non-profit performing arts organization in New York City. Since 1994, Donna has produced the original musicals Signs of Life, Wandas World, Shout! The Mod Musical, Sheba, Magpie, Dog Music, Lone Star Love or the Merry Wives of Windsor, Texas,, Stormy Weather: The Lena Horne Story, Zanna, Dont!, Latin Heat, From My Hometown, Langston Hughes’s Little Ham, 4 Guys Named José, Reunion, Rollin on the T.O.B.A., Delphi or Bust, Richard Rodgers’ Award-winners Barrio Babies, Bobos, and The Princess and the Black-Eyed Pea; Song by Song, the Music of Michael Valenti, Galt McDermots’ Time and the Wind, an original musical revue, After Hours, and presented over 75 original musicals for the Amas Six O’Clock Musical Theatre Lab. Donna is an Associate Artistic Director of the Cabaret and Performance Conference at the Eugene ONeill Center in CT and works with Aruba Productions on new and upcoming musicals. Donna holds a BA in English and Theatre from SUNY Binghamton. She is a graduate of the National Theatre Institute, a theatre training program at the Eugene ONeill Center in Waterford, CT and she received a Certificate of Merit from the Drama Studio in London. Donna is a member of the League for Professional Theatre Women. In 1998, she received the New York Municipal Art Society Award of Merit and the 2003 Galaxy Award from the NY Women’s Association.

Scott Kirschenbaum ( Producer )

is the Owner/President of K2 Enterprises, Inc.–a merchandising company specializing in theatrical concessions, and branded corporate marketing items. Scott is thrilled to be making his producing debut with Silence! Previous theatrical involvements include: Man of La Mancha (2002), Wicked, Spelling Bee, The Wedding Singer, Next to Normal, Catch Me If You Can, and, Priscilla, Graduate of Columbia (BA, 1983), BMI, and CTI. John Arthur Pinckard ( Producer )

Upcoming: Kotis & Hollmann’s Yeast Nation (FringeNYC 2011) and Schellhardt’s The K of D (West End). Recipient: Hal Prince’s T. Edward Hambleton Fellowship for creative producers. Broadway: original cast of Billy Elliot(older Billy). National Tour: Come Fly Away(Sid).Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he studied under Roberto Munoz, then went on to study at the School of American Ballet. At SAB Mr. Hanna was awarded the Mae L. Wein Award for outstanding promise. Mr. Hanna joined New York City Ballet in 1997, and in 2005 was promoted to the rank of principal dancer. On television he has performed in Live From Lincoln Center and the 2009 Tony Awards. He can be seen in the film Centerstage and documentary Finding Billy.
